Importance of Surgical Safety Checklist in Perioperative Care

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je analyzovat vyhledané studie, které se zabývají výsledky použití chirurgického bezpečnostního protokolu, jenž má dle pilotní studie WHO působit jako účinný nástroj ke snížení vzniku nežádoucích událostí vzniklých v perioperačním procesu. Dalším cílem je zjistit z vyhledaných zdrojů, jestli použití tohoto protokolu vede ke zlepšení komunikace a zlepšení týmové spolupráce všech členů operačního týmu. Práce má charakter přehledové studie založené na důkazech. U pacientů byl hodnocen výskyt celkových perioperačních komplikací, mortality, infekce v místě chirurgického výkonu, záměny místa strany operačního výkonu.

Abstract:

The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyze the researched studies, which deal with the results of the application of the surgical safety protocol. According to the WHO pilot study, it should act as an effective tool to reduce the occurrence of undesirable events occurring in the perioperative process. Another goal is to find out from the sources if the use of this protocol leads to improved communication and improvement of teamwork of all members of the operational team. The thesis has the character of an evidence-based survey. Patients were evaluated for the incidence of total perioperative complications, mortality, infection at the site of surgical performance, replacing of the site of the surgical procedure.
