Accounting ethics and forensic audit in corporate practice

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou účetní etiky, podvodných jednání ve firmě a jeho následným vyšetřováním.Kapitola pojednávající o etice definuje základní etické principy, které jsou zakotveny v etických kodexech a je zde popsán jejich význam pro prevenci podvodů a neetického jednání. Další část je věnovaná protiprávnímu jednání a vystihuje nejobvyklejší formy podvodů ve firmách, především páchaných managementem a zaměstnanci v neprospěch firmy. Velký důraz je kladen na problematiku korupce a také dotazníkové šetření provedené v rámci tohoto tématu. Vyšetřování podvodů, tzv. forenzní audit a jeho postupy jsou nejprve charakterizovány a poté aplikovány na konkrétním příkladu projektu OpenCard a navržena opatření, která mohla zabránit obrovské ztrátě projektu.

Abstract:

This thesis about accounting ethic defines basic ethical principles which are grounded in codes of ethics and also we described the significance of these codes for the prevention of frauds and unethical conduct. The next part is devoted to infringement and describes the most common forms of frauds in companies, mainly committed by management and employees to the detriment of the company itself. The great emphasis is placed on the issue of corruption and also the survey that we realized for the purpose of this thesis deals with the issue of corruption. Fraud investigations, so-called forensic audit, and its procedures are at first characterized and then applied to the specific example of project "OpenCard". Finally we propose measures that could prevent huge loss of this project.
