The influence of the dispositional hope in the process of mourning

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce zkoumá vliv dispoziční naděje na proces truchlení u pozůstalých osob. Teoretická část je rozdělená do tří kapitol. První kapitola přibližuje fenomén naděje a zejména Snyderovu kognitivní teorii. Naději popisujeme ve vztahu k souvisejícím fenoménům a představujeme provedené výzkumy. Druhá kapitola popisuje truchlení jako proces. Přibližujeme zde problematiku komplikovaného truchlení a faktory ovlivňující truchlení. Třetí kapitola se věnuje výzkumům, které se týkají vztahu naděje a truchlení. Výzkumná část má kvantitativní design. Ve výzkumu zkoumáme vliv dispoziční naděje na proces truchlení u pozůstalých osob starších 18 let. Rovněž zjišťujeme, jak mohou vybrané proměnné ovlivňovat truchlení a zkoumáme vztah těchto proměnných se škálou dispoziční naděje. Ve výzkumu byla použita metoda Škála dispoziční naděje (Scale of dispositional hope), Inventář komplikovaného truchlení (Inventory of Complicated Grief) a sociodemografický dotazník. Výsledky výzkumu neodhalily vliv dispoziční naděje na proces truchlení jedince. Zjistili jsme, že proměnné pohlaví, věk zesnulého a víra respondenta mají vliv na proces truchlení jedince.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis aims to study the influence of hope and mourning on bereaved individuals. The theoretical part is divided into 3 chapters. First chapter revolves around the phenomenon of hope and Snyder's cognitive theory in particular. This section also discusses hope in relation to associated phenomena and their 6espektive research. Second chapter describes mourning as a process, details the topic of complicated mourning and several factors which have an impact on mourning as well. Third chapter deals with several studies associated with the relation between hope and mourning. The research part has a quantitative character and studies the influence of dispositional hope on mourning of individuals older than 18 years of age. Furthermore, this research describes how the selected variables may affect mourning while also examining their connection with the Scale of dispositional hope. This research was carried out by using the Scale of dispositional hope method, Inventory of Complicated Grief and sociodemographic questionnaire. Results did not reveal any relation between dispositional hope and mourning of an individual. However, the research provided number of variables with an impact on mourning, namely: gender, age of a deceased individual and faith of a respondent.
