Ethical dilemmas of social workers when working with the elderly in Homes for the elderly in the Ústí nad Labem region

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce jsou Etická dilemata sociálních pracovníků při práci se seniory v Domovech pro seniory v Ústeckém kraji. Cílem práce je prostřednictvím kvalitativního výzkumu odpovědět na hlavní výzkumnou otázku, jaká etická dilemata jsou přítomná v práci sociálních pracovníků v Domovech pro seniory v Ústeckém kraji, jak je vnímají, jakými způsoby se je snaží řešit a jaké formy duševní hygieny uplatňují při práci. První kapitola popisuje současný stav poznání v oblasti etických dilemat sociálních pracovníků při práci se seniory. Druhá kapitola se věnuje metodologii výzkumu. Třetí kapitola představuje data získaná ve výzkumu etických dilemat pracovníků v Domovech pro seniory v Ústeckém kraji. Čtvrtá kapitola se zabývá shrnutím a diskusí získaných dat. Pro získání dat byl použit kvalitativní výzkum, konkrétně polostrukturované rozhovory. Na základě analýzy uvedených dat byly získány výsledky, jež jsou představeny v této práci.

Abstract:

The topic of the bachelor thesis is Ethical Dilemmas of Social Workers when Working with the Elderly in Homes for the Elderly in the Ústí nad Labem Region. The aim of the thesis is to answer the main research question through qualitative research, which ethical dilemmas are present in the work of social workers in homes for the elderly in the Ústí nad Labem region, how they perceive them, what ways they try to solve them and what forms of mental hygiene they apply at work. The first chapter describes the current state of knowledge in the field of ethical dilemmas of social workers in their work with the elderly. The second chapter explores the research methodology. The third chapter presents the data obtained in the research on ethical dilemmas of workers in homes for the elderly in the Ústí nad Labem region. The fourth chapter deals with the summary and discussion of the obtained data. Qualitative research, specifically semi-structured interviews, was used to obtain the data. Based on the analysis of the data, the results presented in this thesis were obtained.
