Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje roli vdané ženy plnoprávného občana v Athénách v 5. století př. n. l. v klasickém období, v době neustálého budování demokracie. Hlavními otázkami práce je zodpovědět, jak vnímala athénská společnost vdané ženy, jak náročné bylo jejich začlenění do společnosti a v neposlední řadě, jaké měly práva a povinnosti. Ženy, jako svobodné a zároveň utlačované občanky Athén, nebyly pouze matkami a hospodyněmi, ovšem nezapomínalo se na ně ani v řeckém právu. Neodmyslitelnou roli hrály ženy také v řeckém náboženství, do jisté míry spjatém s morálkou, která měla být v Athénách ve velké míře dodržována v rámci psaných pravidel ve společnosti, kdy v případě nedodržování mohlo docházet k soudním procesům a k potrestáním. Cílem práce je vytvořit co nejdůvěryhodnější obraz vdané ženy a její role ve starověkých Athénách.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with the role of a married woman as a full-fledged citizen in Athens in the 5th century BC in the classical period, at a time of constant de-mocracy building. The main questions of the thesis are to answer how the Athenian society perceived married women, how difficult it was for them to integrate into socie-ty and, last but not least, what their rights and obligations were. Women, as single and oppressed citizens of Athens, were not only mothers and housekeepers, but they were not forgotten in Greek law either. Women also played an integral role in the Greek religion, to some extent linked to morality, which was to be strictly observed in Athens within written rules in society, where non-compliance could lead to legal proceedings and punishments. The aim of the work is to create the most trustworthy picture of a married woman and her role in ancient Athens.
