Image materials in German language lessons

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is called “Pictures in German lessons”. It contains a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part focuses on the content of lessons and the discussion and attempts at school system modernization. Furthermore, it mentions the play/game as an important part of teaching that encourage the pupils to be creative. In order to have good study results, the student must be positively motivated; therefore, one chapter is dedicated to motivation. In the following text, the author writes about didacticism in games/play and its characterization in variable resource materials. The thesis also describes the role of a teacher and a student in the education process, especially in play activities incorporated to the educating process. Student´s needs and requirements are mentioned as well. The tools of play are briefly mentioned. The practical part of the thesis comprises of a questionnaire that author prepared and evaluated. This focuses on students´ attitude towards language lessons, especially regarding creativity and games, and was filled in by students at a high school (OA, SOŠ and SOU), specifically students in classes specializing on tourism. Furthermore, the author presents an overview of various games that use pictures; their specific examples are also part of this thesis.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se nazývá Obrázky v hodinách německého jazyka. Obsahuje teoretickou a praktickou část. V teoretické části se řeší výběr učiva a modernizace školství. Dále se hovoří o hře jako o důležité součásti vyučování, která podněcuje žáky k tvořivosti. Pro dobré studijní výsledky musí být žák pozitivně motivován, proto je jedna kapitola věnována motivaci. Dále autorka hovoří o didaktizaci hry a jejím dělení podle různých zdrojů. Práce popisuje role učitele a žáka ve výuce a zejména v herních aktivitách jako součásti výuky. Jsou zmiňovány také žákovy požadavky a potřeby. Krátce se hovoří také o herních pomůckách. Praktická část práce zahrnuje přípravu a vyhodnocení dotazníku zaměřeného na přístup žáků k jazykové výuce, zvláště s ohledem na kreativitu a hry, který byl vyplněn žáky ze OA, SOŠ a SOU Třeboň, konkrétně žáky z oboru cestovního ruchu. Autorka dále nabízí přehled různých her, využívajících obrázky; jejich konkrétní návrhy a ručně kreslené obrázky jsou rovněž součástí práce.
