The drug addict clients and their motivation for change

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá drogově závislými klienty a jejich motivací ke změně. Po úvaze nad shromážděnými teoretickými poznatky autorka formuluje hlavní výzkumnou otázku: Jakými způsoby sociální pracovníci v kontaktních centrech stimulují motivaci klientů závislých na pervitinu ke změně? Zaměřuje se především na postupy, které pracovníci využívají, dále na postoj, který pracovníci ke klientům během stimulace jejich motivace zaujímají, na vliv postoje pracovníků k návykovým látkám na motivaci klientů a na využívání jednotlivých motivátorů. Vzhledem k povaze hlavní výzkumné otázky je zvolena kvalitativní výzkumná strategie. Poznatky jsou zjištěny pomocí rozhovorů se sociálními pracovníky z kontaktních center a jejich klienty závislými na pervitinu a jejich následnou analýzou. V závěru práce autorka shrnuje zjištění a navrhuje další výzkumy. Rozsah základního textu je 12 740 slov.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with drug-addicted persons and their motivation to a change. After considering the collected theoretical facts, the author formulates the main research question: In what ways do social workers in drop-in centres stimulate the motivation of their clients addicted to methamphetamine to a change? The author focuses mainly on techniques which the workers use, further on the attitude which the workers adopt towards their clients while stimulating their motivation, on the influence of the workers’ attitude towards addictive substances on the clients’ motivation, and on applying the individual motivators. With regard to the nature of the main research question, the qualitative research strategy has been opted. The observations are obtained from interviews with social workers in drop-in centres and with their clients addicted to methamphetamine and from their subsequent analysis. In conclusion, the author summarizes the findings and suggests further researches. The length of the basic text is 12 740 words.
