Disaster Greeks in Asia Minor and its consequences through the eyes of the offspring of the Greeks from Analolia

Abstract:

Předmětem této diplomové práce je zmapování událostí dvacátých let dvacátého století v Řecku a v Malé Asii a jejich důsledky pro dotčené křesťanské a muslimské obyvatelstvo. Jsou zde zmíněny vnitřní i vnější příčiny, které represím a jejich následkům předcházely. Na základě rozhovorů s respondenty je zde rozebráno martýrium řeckých i ostatních maloasijských křesťanů, kteří museli po podpisu Úmluvy o výměně obyvatel Řecka a Turecka z ledna 1923, opustit své domovy, usadit se v nové vlasti a naučit se žít v novém prostředí. V závěru se práce zabývá reflexí života tehdejších repatriantů v Řecku a jejich pozdějším vlivem na kulturní, politickou, ekonomickou a etnickou situaci Řecka.

Abstract:

Topic of this diploma thesis is analysis of the 1920s events in Greece and Asia Minor and its consequences for the affected Christian and Muslim population. Also the inner and outer causes which preceded the represions and its consequences are mentioned there. According to interviews with the respondents I examined the martyrdom of Greek and other Anatolian Christians who, after the sign of The Convention Concerning the Exchange of Greek and Turkish Populations from January 1923, had to leave their homes, settle down in a new country and learn to live in a new environment. At the end the thesis deals with the reflexion of life of the then repatriants in Greece and their later influence on the cultural, political, economical and ethnic situation of Greece.
