The goal of this thesis is to provide an in-depth assessment of the use of PDF (Portable Document Format) file format as an attack vector and the current state of the field of malicious document analysis. First, we provide detailed introduction into the inner organization and structure of PDF files and describe how different features can be used for obfuscation purposes.
