Complementary methods in midwifery general practice and its utilization in physiological pregnancy

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá využitím komplementárních metod v těhotenství, se zaměřením na homeopatii, přirozeným způsobem podporující fyziologický průběh těhotenství. Je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část sumarizuje těhotenství, probíhající fyziologické změny organismu a následně obtíže, vznikající z důvodu těchto změn. Dále obsahuje stručný přehled komplementárních metod, které lze využít při řešení vzniklých obtíží. Praktická část se skládá z ankety a 10 případových studií žen, které využily homeopatii v průběhu jejich těhotenství. Cílem práce je zjistit, jaká je informovanost žen o možnosti využití komplementárních metod v těhotenství, a která metoda je ženami využívána nejčastěji. Zjišťovala jsem, kdo nebo co je nejčastějším zdrojem informací o těchto metodách a na jaké nejčastější obtíže ženy tyto metody využily. Také zda s jejich účinkem byly spokojeny nebo naopak. Dále je práce zaměřená konkrétně na využití homeopatie v těhotenství. Z výsledků výzkumu vyplývá, že většina anketou oslovených žen komplementární metody nezná a nikdy je nevyužily. Menší část žen, které tyto metody znají a v průběhu těhotenství minimálně jednu z nich použily, uvedly jako nejčastěji využitou metodu homeopatii, zdroj informací internet a důvodem jejich využití byl nejčastěji strach z porodu. Ženy z případových studií, které využily metodu homeopatie, uvedly jako nejčastější zdroj informací lékaře a metoda byla nejčastěji využita pro přípravu k porodu. Ve výsledku byla převážná většina žen oslovených anketou, a všechny ženy z případových studií s využitím těchto metod spokojena a jejich účinek hodnotila pozitivně.

Abstract:

The title of the bachelor thesis is: Complementary methods in midwifery general practice and its utilization in physiological pregnancy. This bachelor thesis occupies with usage of complementary methods in pregnancy, focused on homeopathy, which naturally supports the physiological course of pregnancy. It is divided into theoretical and practical part. The former summarizes the pregnancy, physiological changes of the organism and difficulties based on these changes. It also contains a brief overview of complementary methods that can be used to solve difficulties related to pregnancy. The latter consists of questionnaire and ten case studies concerning women who made use of homeopathy during their pregnancy. The aim of this thesis is to find out a state of women’s awareness of possible usage of complementary methods during pregnancy and which method is the most popular one. I have been investigating who or what is the most common source of information and which are the most frequent problems to solve by complementary methods. In addition the respondents had to give information about their satisfaction of its effects. The thesis is also focused on usage of homeopathy during pregnancy. The results of my research show that the majority of questioned women of questionnaire does not know any complementary methods used during pregnancy and therefore did not exploit them. The minority of the women who know complementary methods and used them during pregnancy, indicated homeopathy as the most often used complementary method, the internet as the most often used source of information and fear of labour as the most often reason to exploit these methods. The women of case studies who utilized homeopathy indicated their doctor as the source of information and used it as a part of preparation for the labour. In general the vast majority of the women of questionnaire and all of the women of case studies were satisfied with the outcome and rated the effects positively.
