The importance of education in the quality of life and lifestyle of seniors

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na seniorskou populaci. Cílem bylo zjistit, jak senioři hodnotí kvalitu svého života a zdraví, zda souhlasí s tím, že vzdělávání zvyšuje kvalitu života a také, jaké postoje zaujímají ke stáří a stárnutí. Byly použity tři otázky z české verze standardizovaného dotazníku WHOQOL-100 zjišťující kvalitu života a zdraví, a česká verze standardizovaného dotazníku WHO-AAQ zjišťující postoje ke stáří a stárnutí. Dotazníkového šetření se zúčastnilo 65 seniorů ze Zlína, z toho 42 žen a 23 mužů. Výsledky ukázaly, že s přibývajícím věkem kvalita života a zdraví klesá. 51 seniorů souhlasilo s tím, že vzdělává-ní zvyšuje kvalitu života. V dotazníku AAQ se oslovení respondenti nejvíce ztotožňovali s otázkami týkající se fyzických změn (fyzické zdraví, kondice, cvičení aj.) a nejméně s otázkami v doméně psychosociální ztráty (prožitky samoty, sociální vyloučení aj.).

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on the senior population. The aim of this work was to find out how seniors assess their quality of life and health, whether they agree or disagree that edu-cation increases their quality of life and also what attitudes they have towards old age and aging. Three questions from the Czech version of the standardized WHOQOL-100 questi-onnaire measuring quality of life and health and the Czech version of the standardized WHO-AAQ questionnaire measuring attitudes to old age and aging were used. 65 seniors from Zlín participated in the questionnaire survey, of which 42 were women and 23 were men. The results showed that the quality of life and health decreases with age. 51 seniors agreed that education increases the quality of life. In the AAQ questionnaire, the addres-sed respondents most identified with questions concerning physical changes (physical he-alth, fitness, exercise, etc.) and least with questions in the domain of psychosocial loss (ex-periences of loneliness, social exclusion, etc.).
