The thesis is aimed on the issue of humor translation both in theoretical and practical part. The first two chapters define the term humor and the differences between the American and Czech humor. The following chapters are devoted to terms translation, sitcom and catchphrase. Abstract:
Práce je zaměřená na problematiku překladu humoru jak v teoretické tak v praktické části. První dvě kapitoly definují pojem humor a rozdíly mezi americkým a českým humorem. Další kapitoly jsou věnovány pojmům překlad, sitcom a catchphrase. V závěrečné kapitole teoretické části je popsán seriál How I Met Your Mother, jehož překlad je dále zkoumán v praktické části.
