The thesis aims to analyse the relationship between the CJEU and the ECtHR, aspiring to provide the most comprehensive answer to the title question. It does so primarily in the context of the substantive protection of rights, however, it also focuses on the institutional and normative framework of the practical coexistence of the two courts.
