Obesity as a disease of civilization

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je v teoretické části zaměřena na civilizační nemoci a jejich prevenci a zbytek práce je pak zaměřen pouze na obezitu. Jelikož je obezita velice rozsáhlé téma, je práce rozdělena do několika kapitol. V úvodu je popsána její definice a historie. Dále se práce zaměřuje na příčiny vzniku obezity a její formy. Příčin vzniku obezity je plná řada od genetických faktorů až po faktory vnější. Další kapitolu tvoří klasifikace obezity, komplikace obezity a její zdravotní rizika. V této kapitole jsou uvedeny a popsány všechny zdravotní komplikace, kam lze zařadit hypertenzi, srdeční a cévní onemocnění nebo infarkt myokardu. Samostatná podkapitola je pak věnována cukrovce druhého typu, protože právě toto onemocnění je nejčastějším onemocněním obézních jedinců. V dalších kapitolách je pak popsán výskyt obezity a dětská obezita a závěr této práce je pak zaměřen na prevenci a léčbu obezity. Praktická část této práce je založena na kazuistikách obézních jedinců léčících se na obezitologii. Kazuistiky jsou zaměřeny na rozdíly ve výsledcích léčby v praxi oproti teorii.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on civilization diseases and their prevention in the theoretical part and the rest of the thesis is focused on obesity. Since obesity is an extensive theme, the thesis is divided into several chapters. The introduction includes the definition and history of obesity. Furthermore, the thesis is focused on the causes of obesity and its forms. The causes of obesity are many from genetic factors to external factors. Another chapter includes the classification of obesity and obesity and its health risks. This chapter describes all complications and health risks that may include hypertension, heart and vascular disease and myocardial infarction. A separate subchapter is aimed at diabetes of the second type, because this disease is the most common disease of obese people. The next chapters describe the occurrence of obesity and childhood obesity, and the final part of the thesis is focused on the prevention and treatment of obesity. The practical part of this work is based on case studies of obese people being treated at obesitology. The case studies are focused on the differences between treatment outcomes and theory.
