Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je představení rozdílných typů revolucí se zaměřením na srovnání Velké francouzské revoluce s revolucí americkou. Základním pramenem pro práci jsou myšlenky Hanny Arendtové z díla Über die Revolution. Důraz bude kladen na popis obecných principů revolučního ducha, charakter obou revolucí a na následné demonstrování různých aspektů jejich rozdílnosti. Práce má rovněž posoudit úspěšnost a neúspěšnost těchto revolucí, jejich důsledky a vliv na další události revolučního charakteru.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the performance of different types of revolution, with emphasis on the comparison of the French Revolution to the American Revolution. The basic sources for the thesis are the thoughts of Hannah Arendt?s work ?Über die Revolution?. Emphasis will be placed on describing the general principles of the revolutionary spirit, the character of both revolutions and the subsequent demonstration of various aspects of their differences. Purpose of this thesis is to evaluate successes and failures of these revolutions, their consequences and impact on other events of the revolutionary character.
