Oral health in paediatric patients with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá orálním zdravím u pediatrických pacientů s akutní lymfoblastickou leukémií. Cílem práce je shrnout informace o vlivu akutní lymfoblastické leukémie a její terapie na orální zdraví. Zabývá se onemocněními, které se mohou objevit v dutině ústní dětských pacientů. Věnuje se také prevenci těchto onemocnění a zmírňování projevů těchto onemocnění. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část shrnuje informace o akutní lymfoblastické leukémii, jejích klinických projevech, etiologii a patogenezi, diagnostice a terapii. Další část je věnována onemocněním v dutině ústní, které vznikají v důsledku onemocnění ALL a její terapií. Následující kapitola sumarizuje všechny informace a doporučení nutná pro optimální péči o dutinu ústní u dětí. Praktická část se zabývá mírou informovanosti zdravotnického personálu a rodičů o zásadách péče o dutinu ústní u dětí. Data jsou získávána pomocí dotazníkového šetření a statisticky vyhodnocena. Průzkumem informovanosti zdravotnického personálu a rodičů bylo zjištěno, že zdravotnický personál a rodiče pacientů s ALL nejsou dostatečně informování o tom, jak správně provádět péči o dutinu ústní u dětí.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with oral health in pediatric patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The aim is to summarize information on the effect of acute lymphoblastic leukemia and its treatment on oral health. It deals with the diseases which can occur in the oral cavity of pediatric patients. It also deals with the prevention of these diseases and symptoms mitigation of these diseases. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part summarizes information about acute lymphoblastic leukemia, its clinical manifestations, etiology and pathogenesis, diagnosis and therapy. Another chapter deals withdiseases of the oral cavity, which are consequences of ALL and its treatment. The following section summarizes all the infor-mation and recommendations needed for optimal oral care for children. The practical part deals with the level of awareness of medical staff and parents about the principles of dental care for children. Data are collected through anonymous questionnaire survey and statistical evaluation. Survey of awareness of medical staff and parents has been found that healthcarecare staff and parents of patients with ALL are not sufficiently informed about how to correctly perform oral care in children.
