Selected problems of political communication in Paolo Mancini's writings (political parallelism, professionalism, public sphere)

Abstract:

V diplomové práci se autorka soustředí na témata, která jsou v díle Paola Manciniho (1948*) klíčová pro pochopení vztahu médií a politickým struktur. V rámci těchto třech tematicky vymezených okruhů se diplomantka snaží objasnit, jak Mancini posuzuje vliv různých forem politického paralelismu (segmentovaný pluralismus, polarizovaný pluralismus aj.) na fungování mediálních systémů, a zejména na profesionalizaci novinářů. Zároveň se tato práce snaží prostřednictvím Manciniho myšlenek zachytit, jak se vztah médií a politiky proměnil v průběhu 20. století. Druhá linie diplomové práce sleduje Manciniho pojetí vztahu komercionalizace a profesionalizace a v důsledku toho fungování veřejné sféry. Protože Mancini se ve svém díle často věnoval specifikům italského mediálního systému (parcelování, „nečisté“ vydávání), je práce obohacena o řadu jeho postřehů o italské mediální krajině. Poslední část diplomové práce tvoří vybrané úryvky z díla italského mediologa, které autorka diplomové práce přeložila do češtiny z italského originálu.

Abstract:

The author of the thesis concentrates on the issues, which are in Paolo Mancini´s work important to understand the relation of the media and political structures. In the framework of the tree issues the author tries to explain how Paolo Mancini consider the influence of different political parallelism forms on mass media systems functioning, especially the professionalism of journalists. At the same time the thesis represents Mancini´s ideas concerning the change that relation of the media and politics has undergone in the 20th century. The second line of the thesis fallows Mancini´s conceception of the professionalization and commercialization interaction and public sphere. Thanks to fact, that Mancini dedicated a lot of his publications to specificities of italian mass media system (lottizzazione, „impure“ mass media production), this thesis can be upgraded by the description of these characteristics. The last part of the thesis is composed from chapters selected from Mancini´s publication, translated from italian by the author of this thesis.
