The Bachelor thesis Whitman and Ginsberg: Metaphors of Civilism presents key features of metaphors of civilism as a distinctive poetic device in selected poems by Walt Whitman and Allen Ginsberg. The aim is to analyze the general characteristics of civilist metaphors, how they are utilized in Whitman's and Ginsberg's works, and to evaluate their role in the aesthetic value of the given texts.
