Senior tourism in the Czech republic

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je zjistit preference seniorů v Ústeckém kraji. Práce je zaměřena na podmínky rozvoje seniorského cestovního ruchu, na jeho význam, specifika a podstatu v České republice. Při zpracování této práce byla použita analýza a syntéza poznatků získaných o seniorech pomocí dotazníků. Práce se věnuje cestovnímu ruchu, a to především seniorskému cestovnímu ruchu. Práce je zaměřena na osoby starší padesáti let, které v rámci vyplnění dotazníků dopomohly ke sběru dat o seniorském cestovním ruchu v Ústeckém kraji. Práce obsahuje statistiky seniorů, a to od vývoje populace starší generace v České republice a ve státech Evropy, přes nejčastější onemocnění, kterými trpí obyvatelstvo v tuzemsku, a končící vztahem seniora k dnešní internetové technologii. Práce především zobrazuje výsledky dotazníků seniorů z Ústeckého kraje pomocí grafů a tabulek a řízený rozhovor se dvěma vybranými cestovními kancelářemi dle určitého specifického výběru. Cestovní kanceláře udávají informace o cestování, zájmu a ochotě seniorů cestovat v rámci České republiky nebo do zahraničí. Návrhová část obsahuje určitý vlastní postoj autorky, který by měl vést k rozvoji cestovního ruchu v jednom z vybraných měst, které se nachází v rámci Ústeckého kraje.

Abstract:

The objective of this dissertationis to assess senior citizens‘ preferences in the Usti nad Label country. This paper focuses on the state of senior citizen tourism development, its meaning, specifics and impact in the Czech Republic. While working on this dissertation, ananalysis and synthesis of findings gleaned from questionnaireswere used. This work focuses on tourism, mainly senior citizen tourism. The work focuses on people fifty years old or older, who contributed to the data collection by filling the questionnaires. The work contains statistics about seniors ranging from the evolution of the elderly population in the Czech Republic and European countries, to the most common diseases inflicting seniors, to the relationship seniors have with modern Internet technology. The work mainly presents the data gleaned from questionnaires filled by seniors from the Usti nad Labem county using graphs and tables and presents a controlled interview with two selected traveling agencies meeting particular selection criteria. Travel agencies provide data about seniors‘ traveling, interests and willingness to travel within the Czech Republic and abroad. The planning part contains the author’s own specific plan that should lead to the development of the tourism sector in one of the selected cities in the Usti nad Labem county.
