Molecular-biological Properties of the New Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2

Abstract:

Práce je zaměřena na molekulární vlastnosti viru SARS-CoV-2, který se v lidské populaci objevil na konci roku 2019. Jedná se o virus, u něhož proběhlo mnoho mutací, některé z klinicky významných jsou zde zmíněny. Bližší popis je věnován genomu, strukturním a nestrukturním proteinům, včetně jejich funkce při infikování hostitelské buňky. Dále jsou v práci diskutovány možnosti původu viru. Poslední část je věnována onemocnění covid-19, jeho klinickému obrazu, možnostem diagnostiky a terapie.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the molecular properties of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which appeared in the human population in the end of 2019. It is a virus that has undergone many mutations, some of which are clinically significant are mentioned here. A closer description is devoted to the genome, structural and non-structural proteins, including their functions in infecting host cells. The work also describes the possible origins of the virus. The last part is dedicated to the disease covid-19, its clinical picture, diagnosis and therapy options.
