Bitcoin vs. Money in State Hands

Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce je deskripce a analýza virtuálního platebního systému Bitcoin. Pro práci bylo zvoleno několik hypotéz, které budou v průběhu práce potvrzeny případně vyvráceny. Teoretická část je zaměřená na vývoj peněz, jejich směnu a obchodování na forexovém trhu. Na vývoj peněz navazuje deskripce virtuální měny Bitcoin, jenž je v praktické části podrobena analýzám. Výsledky těchto analýz mají za cíl určit současnou tržní pozici Bitcoinu na trhu a zanalyzovat její vývoj na základě předchozího roku 2014. Jako nejzásadnější z pohledu analýz jsem zvolil SWOT, fundamentální, technickou a psychologickou analýzu. Z dostupných dat byl vytvořen predikční model Bitcoinu pro rok 2015. Závěrem byly shrnuty současné možnosti uplatnění Bitcoinu jak v ČR, tak ve světě. V závěru práce je pokus o aplikaci virtuálního platebního systému a jeho nejsilnější stránky, tedy decentralizace, na nedávnou měnovou reformu v Kyperské republice.

Abstract:

The subject matter of the diploma thesis is a description and analysis of the virtual payment system of Bitcoin. Several hypotheses were selected for the work and they will be either confirmed or disproven in the work. The theoretical part focuses on the development of money, its exchange and trading at the forex market. A description of the Bitcoin virtual currency follows after the description of development of money, and this currency is then subjected to analyses in the practical part. The results of these analyses aim at determining the current market position of Bitcoin and analyze its development on the basis of the previous year, 2014. The SWOT, fundamental, technical and psychological analyses were selected as the most cardinal ones from the analytical point of view. A prediction model for Bitcoin for 2015 was developed from the data available. The conclusion summarizes the current possibilities of using the Bitcoin both in the Czech Republic and in the world. An attempt to apply a virtual payment system to the recent monetary reform in the Republic of Cyprus, including its strongest points, i.e. decentralization, is provided in the final part of the work.
