Abstract:

Magisterská diplomová práce s názvem Výchova a vzdělávání dětí v Církvi Ježíše Krista Svatých posledních dnů se věnuje fenoménu propracovanosti vzdělávacího systému dětí a mládeže v Církvi Ježíše Krista Svatých posledních dnů. Cílem práce bylo, především na základě terénního výzkumu, představit způsob výchovy dětí v církvi a také přímo v rodinách. Velká část je věnována i literatuře vydávané církví k tomuto tématu. Práce se opírá o žité náboženství, tedy o pozorování konkrétní podoby způsobu péče a výchovy dětí v Církvi Ježíše Krista Svatých posledních dnů. Z důvodu ucelenosti práce je v úvodu hnutí představeno jako takové (písma, organizace a věrouka). Samostatná kapitola je věnována institutu ?nedělních škol? při každotýdenních shromáždění svátosti. Zde je také popisován způsob výuky ze strany vyučujících v Církvi. Závěrečná část popisuje způsob, jakým se děti a mladí vyrovnávají s negativním přijímáním své víry ze strany okolí. Uvádí se zde konkrétní příběhy získané z osobních rozhovorů s dětmi. Cílem je zhodnotit argumenty, zda negativní zkušenosti z dětských kolektivů s přijetím vlastní víry, mohou zapříčinit v budoucnu odchod z Církve.

Abstract:

The Master´s thesis named ?Upbringing and educating children in The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints? is devoted to a phenomenon of sophistication of children and youth educational system in LDS. The aim of the work is an introduction of the way of upbringing children in The Church and families, based on fieldwork. A considerable part is devoted to literature published by The Church. The thesis relies on lived religion that means an observation of the specific way of treating children in LDS. The basics of this movement, such as written documents, organizational techniques and doctrine are presented in the introduction of the paper due to preservation of compactness of the thesis. The one chapter is devoted to the institution of ?Sunday school? during weekly sacrament Meeting. The way of teaching is also described in this chapter, however from the point of view of a religious teacher. The final part is dedicated to children and youth dealing with others that are negatively reacting to their religion. Particular stories are given from personal interviews with children having first-hand experience. The aim is to evaluate whether negative experience in children having problems with accepting their own religion within a child collective can cause their departure from The Church.
