Sexual activity and sexual life in menopausal women

Abstract:

ABSTRAKT Cíl: Zjistit výskyt sexuálních dysfunkcí u žen v klimakteriu. Metodika: Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 162 respondentek, které jsou klientkami gynekologických ambulancí doktora Jiřího Pavláska v Jablonci nad Nisou a Doktora Josefa Homoly v Praze. Pro výzkumné šetření byla použita česká verze standardizovaného dotazníku SFQ28 (Dotazník sexuálních aktivit a sexuálního života u žen) od firmy Pfizer. Získaná data byla statisticky zpracována programem NCSS 2007. Výsledky: U žen v klimakteriu se vyskytují sexuální dysfunkce, nejvíce se vyskytuje dysfunkce touhy žen po sexuálních aktivitách, nejméně vyskytující se dysfunkcí byla bolest při sexuálních aktivitách. Zhruba u čtvrtiny dotazovaných žen byla vyhodnocena dysfunkce lubrikace, dysfunkce kognitivního vzrušení, dysfunkční orgasmus a dysfunkce pocitu vzrušení při sexuálních aktivitách. Ženy bez sexuálních aktivit se sexuálním aktivitám nejčastěji vyhýbaly z důvodu strachu z bolesti, měly také nejvíce strach ze ztráty partnera. Nebyla statisticky prokázána souvislost mezi výskytem sexuálních dysfunkcí a věkem, ani vzděláním respondentek. Souvislosti byly statisticky prokázány mezi jednotlivými dysfunkcemi. Závěr: Hormonální a somatické změny způsobené menopauzou a stárnutím organizmu ovlivňují negativně sexuální život žen. Sexualita je párová oblast a výskytem sexuálních dysfunkcí může být vztah narušen. Sexuální dysfunkce máme možnost léčit a proto je nutná edukace žen v této oblasti při gynekologických prohlídkách, protože se často sami stydí svěřit se lékaři či porodní asistentce s těmito problémy. Klimakterium je považováno za jedno z nejobtížnějších období v životě ženy. Klíčová slova: sexualita, menopauza, klimakterium, sexuální dysfunkce, žena, sex.

Abstract:

ABSTRACT Objective: To find the occurrence of sexual dysfunctions in climacteric women. Methods: The research group included 162 respondents, who are clients in the gynecological ambulances of Dr. Jiří Pavlásek in Jablonec nad Nisou and Dr. Josef Homola in Prague. For research purposes The Female Sexual Function Questionnaire (SFQ28) was used in Czech language from Pfizer. The obtained data was statistically processed by the NCSS 2007 software. Results: Sexual dysfunctions occur at climacteric women, with the highest incidence in dysfunctions with sexual activity appetite, lowest in pain associated with sexual activities. Approximately in fourth of the questioned women dysfunctions with lubrication, cognitive arousal, orgasm and sensation during sexual activity were analyzed. Women without sexual activities avoided sex mostly because of fear of pain and fear of losing their partner. Statistically there was no evidence in correlation between neither incidence of sexual dysfunctions and age and education of respondents. Correlations were statistically proved among each dysfunction. Conclusion: Hormonal and somatic changes induced by menopause and aging of the organism influence negatively the sex life of women. Sexuality is a paired domain and by presence of sexual dysfunctions the relationship could be affected. We have the opportunity to cure sexual dysfunctions and there is need in educating women in this topic during gynecological examinations, because women themselves are shamed to confide in their doctor or midwife with similar problems. Climacterium is considered to be one of the most difficult times in life of the woman. Keywords: sexuality, menopause, climacterium, sexual dysfunction, woman, sex.
