Portal Service for Vegetation Parameter Estimation from Remote Sensing Landscape Images

Abstract:

ENVision je online portál, zameraný na spracovanie a vizualizáciu geopriestorových dát, cielený pre použitie českou národnou komunitou diaľkového prieskumu Zeme. Táto bakalárska práca má za cieľ rozšíriť portál o nové služby a navrhnúť a implementovať službu pre konfigurovateľný výpočet vegetačných indexov a odhad vegetačných parametrov. V rámci práce, sa venujeme oblasti diaľkového prieskumu, špecifikám multispektrálnych a hyperspectrálnych snímok a teórii modelov prenosu slnečného žiarenia. Analyzujeme jednotlivé kroky odhadu vegetačných parametrov a na ich základe navrhujeme systém pre spracovanie leteckých a dronových snímok a spektrálnych databáz simulovaných modelom PROSAIL. Služby pre výpočet vegetačných indexov a odhad vegetačných parametrov implementujeme ako súčasť systému. V závere otestujeme službu ma portále ENVision, kde je verejne prístupná a zhodnotíme jej výsledky, pričom identifikujeme možnosti budúcich rozšírení a vylepšení.

Abstract:

ENVision is an online portal dedicated to processing and visualization of geospatial data, targeted for use by the Czech national remote sensing research community. This bachelor thesis aims to extend the portal with new general services and to design and implement a service for configurable computation of vegetation indices and estimation of vegetation parameters. As a part of the thesis, we address the field of remote sensing, specifics of multispectral and hyperspectral imagery, and the theory of radiative transfer models. We analyze the individual steps of vegetation parameter estimation, based on which we design a system for processing of airborne and UAV imagery and PROSAIL spectral databases. We implement the services of computation of vegetation indices and estimation of vegetation parameters as a part of the system. Finally, we test the service on the ENVision portal, where it is publicly available, and evaluate the results identifying possibilities for future extensions and improvements.
