Vehicle for Smart Factory Model with Principle of Industry 4.0 Controlled by Arduino

Abstract:

The aim of this project is to verify the possibilities of implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Computing and Internet of Things (IoT) into the current industry to achieve the Industry Concept 4.0. The main goal is to develop a smart factory with modular structured units controlled by cyber-physical systems that monitor physical processes by creating a virtual copy of the physical world with decentralized decisions. In this project, a vehicle is developed that can transport the materials inside a factory using principles and conditions of Industry 4.0. Many possible ideas were analysed and a one practical solution was developed. A robot named T-Bot (TransBot), a vehicle, has been constructed from two Arduino boards that communicate wirelessly when programmed in the Integrated Development Environment (IDE). One Arduino act as the mini computer and the second Arduino serves as control system which executes the simulation of Industry concept 4.0. Bluetooth is used as the way of communication. DC motors drive the vehicle.
