Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Učební styly a strategie v individuálních doučovacích hodinách angličtiny“ zdůrazňuje nutnost přihlédnutí k individuálním učebním stylům jednotlivých žáků ve výuce angličtiny a volby vhodných učebních strategií odpovídajících těmto stylům. Cílem mé diplomové práce je zkoumání učebních stylů žáka, zkoumání rozvoje odpovídajících učebních strategií a jejich využití jak při učení se ve škole, tak i v následném studiu angličtiny. Po dobu tří měsíců jsem vyučovala dva studenty základní a střední školy v soukromých hodinách angličtiny v rozmezí jedné vyučovací hodiny týdně, pomohla jim rozpoznat svůj učební styl(y) a tyto vhodně využívat při učení se. Ve své práci uvádím teoretické rozdělení učebních stylů a strategií, postup diagnostikování učebních stylů u jednotlivých žáků a následnou praktickou aplikaci zvolených učebních strategií ve výuce. Výsledky a pokrok žáků jsou zhodnoceny porovnáním výsledků výkonnostních testů provedených se žáky před a po individuálním vyučování.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis “Learning Styles and Strategies in One-to-One Remedial English Language Classes” emphasizes the necessity of considering individual learning styles of particular learners in English classes and the choice of suitable learning strategies conforming to the styles. The objective of my diploma thesis is the investigation of students’ learning styles, the exploration of the development of the corresponding learning strategies and their application both in learning at school and the following learning English. I provided two learners of a basic and a secondary school with three-month private remedial English classes in the range of one lesson a week, helped them to recognize their learning style(s) and use them effectively in learning. In my work I introduce theoretical division of learning styles and strategies, the process of identifying learning styles in the learners and the consequential practical application of the elected learning strategies in classes. The results and progress of the learners are evaluated by comparing the results of pre-tests and post-tests carried out before and after the remedial classes.
