Analysis of the load-bearing capacity of a joint with a insert nut

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou únosnosti a tuhosti spojů se závrtnou maticí. Cílem studie bylo experimentálně ověřit vliv typu matice, jejího průměru a délky na mechanické vlastnosti spoje, především s ohledem na odolnost proti vytažení a momentové namáhání. Provedené experimenty zahrnovaly testování spojů v třech různých typech dřevěných materiálů, což umožnilo posoudit vliv kombinací faktorů. Výsledky ukázaly, že závrtné matice poskytují významně odlišnou únosnost a tuhost v závislosti na svých parametrech a typech spojovaného materiálu. Závrtné matice do dřeva vykazovaly podobné výsledky, spoje s alternativními náhradami závrtných matic nebyly tak odolné. Zjištěné poznatky mohou výrazně přispět ke zlepšení dimenzování nábytkových spojů se závrtnými maticemi.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of the bearing capacity and stiffness of the connections with a insert nuts. The objectives of the study were to experimentally verify the significance of the type of nut, its diameter and length on the mechanical properties of the connection, especially with respect to pull-out resistance and bending moment The experiments carried out involved testing joints in three different types of wood materials, which allowed the importance of combinations of factors to be assessed. The results showed that the insert nuts provide significantly different load carrying capacity and stiffness depending on their parameters and the types of material being joined. The wood insert nuts showed similar results, but the connections with alternative insert nuts replacements were not as durable. The findings can contribute significantly to improving the sizing of furniture connections with cotter nuts.
