Use of selected groups of useful plants in landscape architecture

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá použitím užitkových rostlin v krajinářské architektuře se zaměřením na užitkové rostliny uplatnitelné v záhonech. V rešeršní části jsou definovány související pojmy, je popsáno členění užitkových rostlin a smíšených záhonů a také je popsán historický vývoj použití užitkových rostlin. Z historického vývoje byla práce hlouběji zaměřena na období První republiky. Pro zjištění forem použití užitkových rostlin pro dané období byla metodicky hodnocena plánová dokumentace na Ústavu biotechniky zeleně na Zahradnické fakultě v Lednici. Ze současného období krajinářské architektury je pro tuto práci stěžejní použití užitkových rostlin ve smíšených záhonech. Pro poznání specifik smíšeného záhonu s užitkovými rostlinami vznikl návrh experimentálního smíšeného záhonu s dominantním zastoupením zelenin, který byl v roce 2021 realizován. Průběh provedených prací je popsán a doložen fotodokumentací.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the use of utility plants in landscape architecture, focusing on utility plants applicable in flower beds. In the research section, related terms are defined, the classification of utility plants and mixed beds is described, and the historical development of the use of utility plants is also described. In terms of historical development, the thesis has focused in depth on the period of the First Republic. To determine the forms of use of useful plants for the given period, the planning documentation at the Department of Planting Design and Maintenance at the Faculty of Horticulture in Lednice was methodically evaluated. From the contemporary period of landscape architecture, the use of utility plants in mixed beds is central to this work. To understand the specifics of a mixed bed with utility plants, a proposal for an experimental mixed bed with a main representation of vegetables was developed and implemented in 2021. The progress of the work carried out is described and supported by photo documentation.
