Rating as an instrument for prediction of financial health of the organization

Abstract:

The graduation theses pays attention to the topics of rating and its construction by the rating agencies. The first part is mainly focused on a history, characteristics, classification of rating, but some actual data and ideas are added to this part as well. In the second part we analyze the actual process of rating´s construction, which is followed by the analysis of rating´s properties and its practical value based on the published data of rating agency Standard & Poor´s. The last part includes an assessment of the rating´s meaning to the society and is offering some ways of how to use rating´s knowledge in the praxes.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca sa venuje problematike ratingu a jeho tvorbe jednotlivými svetovými agentúrami. Prvá časť práce je zameraná predovšetkým na históriu, charakteristiku, členenie ratingu, je však obohatená aj o niekoľko aktuálnych údajov a názorov. Druhá kapitola sa zaoberá samotným procesom tvorby ratingu, na ktorý nadväzuje analýza jeho vlastností a vypovedajúcej hodnoty na základe dostupných údajov agentúry Standard & Poor´s. Posledná časť práce obsahuje zhodnotenie prínosu ratingu pre spoločnosť a naznačuje možnosti využitia vedomostí z ratingovej problematiky v praxi.
