Usti Region - Dead from landscape to an attractive tourist destination

Abstract:

Šedesátá léta minulého století jsou obdobím, kdy je zahájena přeměna Podkrušnohorské oblasti na energetické centrum státu. Masivní rozvoj povrchové těžby hnědého uhlí se podílí na tvorbě mrtvé krajiny a exhalace vybudovaných tepelných elektráren likvidují zeleň blízkých Krušných hor. Lidé v této oblasti umírají téměř o deset let dříve než občané v jiných regionech střední Evropy. Kdyby někdo nabízel tuto část České republiky na počátku devadesátých let jako turistickou destinaci, byl by jistě považován za blázna. Jen menší skupinky navštěvovaly tento kraj – byli to lidé, kteří chtěli na vlastní oči vidět, co všechno dokáže člověk zničit. Na přelomu tisíciletí však přichází nečekaná změna – Krušné hory se zelenají, vzduch je zde zdravější než na pražských křižovatkách, neboť tepelné zdroje jsou vybaveny technikou, která mimořádně snížila škodlivé plyny v ovzduší. Bývalé vytěžené haldy se díky rekultivacím zazelenaly mladým lesem, z vytěžených jam vznikají velká jezera. Na vrcholcích Krušných hor vznikají moderní turistická a sportovní centra, obnovují se kulturní památky, oblasti s nádhernou přírodou jsou zajišťovány destinačními agenturami. Cesta návratu turismu do Ústeckého kraje je otevřena. Jedním z problémů je však boj se setrvačným negativním pohledem lidí z okolních regionů. Udržování negativní image napomáhají média, některé televizní seriály apod. Tato diplomová práce se pokouší zachytit tuto proměnu Ústeckého kraje coby ekologicky i morálně zdevastovaného regionu na zajímavou turistickou destinaci Evropy.

Abstract:

Sixties of the last century are a period when began the transformation of region Podkrušnohoří on the energy center of the state. Massive development of mining of brown coal creates dead landscape and exhalation of constructed thermal power liquidated greenery near the Ore Mountains. People in the region have died almost ten years earlier than people in other regions of Central Europe. If someone offered this part of the Czech Republic in the early nineties as a tourist destination - it would be considered a fool. Only small groups attended this region - they were people who wanted to see with your own eyes what can destroy a person. Unforeseen changes coming to the turn of the millennium - the Ore mountains are green, the air here is healthier than in prague crossroads, as heat sources are equipped with a technology that extremely reduced the harmful gases in the air. The former excavated heap thanks to reclaim land green up of young forest, in the excavated pits are formed big lakes. On the tops of the Ore Mountains are formed modern tourist and sports centers, restoring cultural monuments, areas with beautiful nature are provided destination agencies. The way the return of tourism in the Ústí nad labem region is open. One of the problems is the fight with the inertial negative view of people from the surrounding regions. Maintaining the negative image of helping of the media, some tv series, etc. This thesis attempts to capture this transformation of the Ústí Region as ecologically and morally devastated the region on an interesting tourist destination in Europe.
