Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to examine if and how the British Industrial Revolution influenced family, its life and structure. The thesis is divided into two main parts. The first part focuses on the period before the Industrial Revolution and describes not only the family life of a peasant and upper-class family but also explores the roles of their members. The second part deals with the Industrial Revolution, reasons for its arrival, and is also aimed at working-class and middle-class families, describing possible change of responsibilities and roles men, women and children played. The thesis will be written in English.

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je zjistit, zda a jak britská průmyslová revoluce ovlivnila rodinu, konkrétně její strukturu a život. Práce se skládá ze dvou hlavních částí. První část je zaměřena na dobu před průmyslovou revolucí a popisuje život rolnické rodiny a rodiny z vyšší společenské třídy. V této části jsou rovněž prozkoumávány role jednotlivých členů v rodině. V druhé části je popsána průmyslová revoluce a důvody jejího příchodu. Rovněž je zde popsán život dělnické rodiny a rodiny ze střední společenské třídy. V této části jsou také mapovány možné změny rolí, které muži, ženy a děti zastávali. Práce bude sepsána anglicky.
