Political leadership and charisma in politics. Slovakia during era of Vladimír Mečiar.

Abstract:

The task of the diploma thesis is to evaluate the role played by the personality and personal characteristics of politicians in shaping political decision-making in the country. We will examine the extent to which it is the individual politician who shapes the direction and goals of internal and external state policies, and how it affects the general public and other political leaders. To what extent has the charisma and personal characteristics of Vladimír Mečiar influenced his decision-making and success, and to what extent can we observe these tendencies in the world? In the theoretical definition of important concepts, such as political leadership and charisma, we will connect the definitions from the point of view of economics, political science, and psychology. Following the theoretical grasp of this issue, we will try to supplement it with suitable examples from various countries where it was possible to observe these tendencies during their development while discussing in more detail the political leadership and influence of charisma of Vladimír Mečiar at the time of his work in politics. We will try to analyze his behavior and connect it with the examples of other important political leaders. In this work, we will be based on the situational approach of the management and thus we will also take into account the external circumstances in Slovakia in the period under study.

Abstract:

Úlohou diplomovej práce je zhodnotiť, akú rolu zohráva charakter a osobné vlastnosti politika pri formovaní politického rozhodovania v krajine. Budeme skúmať, v akej miere je to politik-jednotlivec, ktorý formuje smer a ciele jednotlivých vnútorných a vonkajších štátnych politík, a ako pôsobí na širokú verejnosť a na iných politických predstaviteľov. V akej miere dokázala charizma a osobnostné predpoklady Vladimíra Mečiara ovplyvniť jeho rozhodovanie a úspech a v akej miere dokážeme tieto tendencie spozorovať vo svete? Pri teoretickom vymedzení dôležitých pojmov, ako politické vodcovstvo a charizma, prepojíme definície z pohľadu ekonómie, politológie a psychológie. V nadväznosti na teoretické uchopenie tejto problematiky sa ju posnažíme doplniť vhodnými prí-kladmi z rôznych krajín, kde bolo možné spozorovať tieto tendencie v priebehu ich vývoja, pričom si podrobnejšie rozoberieme politické vodcovstvo a vplyv charizmy Vladimíra Mečiara v časoch jeho pôsobenia na politickej scéne Slovenskej republiky. Posnažíme sa o analýzu jeho správania a analogicky ju prepojíme s príkladmi iných významných politických vodcov. V práci budeme vychádzať zo situačného prístupu vedenia a teda zapojíme do úvahy aj vonkajšie okolnosti na Slovensku v skúma-nom období.
