The diploma thesis deals with the critical analysis of the translation, whose author is Ludvík Vaculík. Part of the thesis is dedicated to author's personality, literary activity and his life, which is closely thematically related to the described novel Sekyra. Diplomová práce se zabývá kritikou překladu románu Sekyra, jehož autorem je Ludvík Vaculík. Část práce je věnována popisu autorovy osobnosti, literární činnosti a jeho života, který je úzce tematicky spjat s popisovaným románem Sekyra.
