Integration of arab culture into Czech society

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce na téma Integrace arabské kultury do české společnosti se věnuje tomu, jakým způsobem probíhá integrace arabské (muslimské) menšiny do české společnosti. Hlavním cílem této práce je popsat historický přehled této integrace a analyzovat současné začleňování arabské muslimské menšiny do české společnosti. Dalším dílčím cílem je představit základní kulturní a sociální charakteristiky muslimské společnosti. Teoretická část je členěna do sedmi kapitol. První kapitola vysvětluje samotný pojem integrace. Ve druhé a třetí kapitole se věnuji kulturním a sociálním znakům arabské (muslimské) komunity. Ve čtvrté kapitole mapuji historický přehled rozšíření islámu, který v páté kapitole rozšiřuji na historický přehled integrace muslimů do České republiky. Následující kapitola se zabývá muslimskými organizacemi na našem území, včetně problémů, které se jich týkaly. Poslední, sedmá, kapitola stručně popisuje současné soužití muslimů na našem území, zejména život mladých muslimů v České republice. Praktická část pojednává o tom, jak je na muslimskou menšinu v České republice pohlíženo v médiích a novinových článcích v současnosti. Výzkum se snaží zanalyzovat, zda média se o aktuální válce mezi Izraelem a hnutím Hamás vyjadřují objektivně. Dalším cílem je zjistit, zda má válka vliv na islamofobní nálady české společnosti. K dosažení stanoveného cíle byla využita kvalitativní obsahová analýza novinových článků z vybraných internetových zpravodajských portálů a sondážní výzkum.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis, Integration of Arab culture into Czech society, is devoted to how the integration of the Arab (muslim) minority into Czech society takes place. The main goal of this thesis is to describe the historical overview of this integration and to analyze the current integration of the Arab muslim minority into Czech society. Another partial goal is to present the basic cultural and social characteristics of muslim society. The theoretical part is divited into seven chapters. The first chapter explains the concept of integration itself. In the second and third chapters, I focus on the cultural and social characteristics of the Arab community. In the fourth chapter I map the historical overview of the integration of muslims into the Czech Republic. The following chapter deals with Muslim organizations in our territory, including the problems that concerned them. The last, seventh, chapter briefly describes the contemporary coexistence of Muslims in our territory, especially the life of young Muslims in the Czech Republic. The practical part discusses how the Muslim minority in the Czech Republic is currently viewed in the media and newspaper articles. The research tries to analyze whether the media express themselves objectively about the current war between Israel and Hamas. Another goal is to find out if the war has an effect on the Islamophobic sentiments of Czech society. To achieve the set goal, a qualitative content analysis of newspaper articles from selected internet news portals was used.
