Parenthood throughout two epochs of czech society as a testimony of women of two generations.

Abstract:

V předložené bakalářské práci se věnuji významu rodičovství, hodnotě dítěte a reprodukčním strategiím. V první kapitole teoretické části práce se věnuji historickému přehledu rodičovství sociologickou optikou s důrazem na období socialismu a kapitalismu v České republice. Dále jsou v práci stručně popsány některé sociologické teorie a koncepty, které se mohou vztahovat k problematice rodičovských strategií. V praktické části je realizován kvalitativní předvýzkum, který se týká otázky postojů k rodičovství a plánování narození prvního dítěte u dvou skupin žen – socializovaných v socialismu a socializovaných v kapitalismu. Cílem předvýzkumu bylo odhalit shody a odlišnosti v jejich výpovědích. Součástí předložené práce je reflexe předvýzkumu, kde popisuji své postřehy a další možné otázky, které vyvstaly v souvislosti s uvedenou problematikou na základě proběhlého předvýzkumu.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis investigates the importance of parenthood, the value of a child and reproduction strategies. The first chapter of the theoretical section is dedicated to the historical overview of parenthood from the sociological point of view with the emphasis on the era of socialism and capitalism in Czech republic. Further there are brief descriptions of certain sociological theories and concepts which may be applied to the problems of parenting strategies. The practical section consists of qualitative pre-survey that compares the attitude towards parenthood between two groups of women with respect to the historical era they have been socialised in. The aim of the pre-survey was to show the similarities and differences in the statements of each group. In this thesis I also personally reflect on the pre-survey and discuss further possible questions of this topic that arise from the results of the pre-survey.
