Collecting of heavy metals using chelating sorbents on the basis of pearl macroporous cellulose

Abstract:

Diplomová práce na téma " Zachycování těžkých kovů chelatačními sorbenty na bázi makroporézní perlové celulosy" je zaměřena na testování těchto speciálních celulosových sorbentů IONTOSORB. Cílem práce je stanovení celkových sorpčních kapacit pro vybrané kovy. Teoretická část pojednává o problematice výskytu kovů v životním prostředí a dostupných metodách odstraňování těchto polutantů. Na závěr literární rešerše jsou představeny měniče iontů a je popsán proces iontové výměnný. Testovány byly chelatační (selektivní) sorbenty Iontosorb HX a AMD obsahující hydroxamovou a amidoximovou funkční skupinu. Z výzkumu vyplývá, že sorbent HX 250-500 mikrometrů je díky svým vlastnostem nevhodný pro použití. Sorbent HX 100-150 mikrometrů naopak vykazuje vynikající vlastnosti a dosahuje dobrých hodnot hmotnostní i objemové kapacity. Studiem parametrů ovlivňující účinnost sorpce, byla zjištěna závislosti sorpce kovů na pH roztoku.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis named "Trapping of heavy metals using chelating sorbents on the basis of pearl macroporous cellulose" deals with on the testing of these special cellulose sorbents IONTOSORB. Theoretical part is about the problems with the presence of metals in the environment and the available methods of removing these pollutants. Ion exchangers are introduced by the end of the literary research and there also is ion exchange process description. The chelating (selective) sorbents Iontosorb HX and AMD containing the hydroxamic and amidoxime functional groups were tested. The research suggests that the HX 250-500 mikrometrů sorbent is unsuitable for use due to its properties. Sorbent HX 100-150 mikrommetrů, on the contrary, has excellent properties and achieves good values of volume and weight capacities. By studying the parameters influencing the sorption efficiency, the dependence of metal sorption on the pH solution was discovered.
