Practical realization of the establishment and use of gardens in schools and its impact on teaching and student lifestyle.

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je založení a užívání užitkové zahrady při střední odborné škole a zkoumání jejího vlivu na výuku a životní styl studentů. Jde zejména o využití pro učební obory Kuchař – číšník a nástavbové studium v oboru Gastronomie. Zahrada a vytvořené pracovní listy mohou být použity také v ostatních učebních a studijních oborech při výuce přírodních věd, především botaniky a předmětů, týkajících se zdravovědy a zdravého životního stylu. Teoretická část obsahuje historii bylinkářské medicíny a bylinných zahrad v Evropě, dále nároky vybraných bylin na pěstování, popisuje účinné látky, obsažené v těchto bylinách. Dále byliny z pohledu gastronomie, užití jednotlivých bylin v evropských národních kuchyních. Popisuje také možnosti využití zahrady ve výuce a její vliv na životní styl studentů. V praktické části je popsána realizace zahrady počínaje motivací, představení projektu vedení školy, zapojení žáků do projektování zahrady a samotnou realizaci. Výzkumná část se věnuje znalostem studentů v oboru bylin, jejich stravovacím návykům a životnímu stylu.

Abstract:

I have chosen as a target of my dessertation practical realization of the establishment and use of gardens in schools and its impact on teaching and student lifestyle. It could be used for vocational education at branch of studies: Cook and waiter, Gastronomy. It could be used also for other branches of studies for teaching natural science (botany) or healthy lifestyle. The theoretical part includes history of medicinbal herbs and herb gardens in Europe, demands on growing of chosen herbs, containes effective drugs. Herbs from the piont of view of gastronomy, using herbs in Europe national cuisines. It describes possibilities making use of herb garden in process of education and its influence on student´s lifestyle also. In the practical part there is description of the school garden realization, begins with student´s motivation, presentation to the school managenet, students engagement in garden-planning. In the part of research there are presented results of researches, deal with student´s knowledge of herbs, their eating habits and lifestyle.
