Interpretation of selected seismic proliles from the Outer Western Carpathians in South Moravia

Abstract:

Horizontální posun je pohyb, při němž se dvě kry zdánlivě pohybují vedle sebe podél zlomové plochy. K tomu, aby došlo k horizontálnímu posunu, musí na horninu působit orientované napětí. Nejvyšší napětí působící na zlomovou zónu bývá orientováno zhruba v úhlech 45° a mezi ním a zlomovou zónou dochází k menším doprovodným střižným frakturám, tzv. Riede-lovým střihům, jež jsou na zlomovou zónu orientovány pod přibližnými úhly 15° a 75°. Tyto struktury bývají i v pozdější fázi vzniku zlomu stále viditelné a mohou tudíž indikovat jeho existenci. Na území Ždánické jednotky, v oblasti Pálavy, byly v rámci této práce nalezeny dosud nepopsané struktury Riedelových střihů, které mohou indikovat horizontální posun. Geomorfologické projevy tohoto zlomu byly studovány využitím studia leteckých snímků a analýzou DMR dat. Strukturní charakteristiky byly posouzeny na základě interpretací pěti 2D reflexně seismických profilů a pěti vrtů. Bylo zjištěno, že studovaný horizontální posun je levostranný s azimutem sklonu k jihovýchodu. Na jihu ovlivňuje horniny paleogénu, neogénu a jury, kdežto na severu zasahuje až do krystalinika. Zlom je zřejmě doprovodným jevem ko-sého nasouvání Karpat na platformu Českého masivu.

Abstract:

Strike slip is a displacement in which two blocks appear to move side by side along a fault surface. In order for the horizontal slip to occur, deviatoric stress must act on the rock. The highest stress acting on the fracture zone is usually oriented app. at angles of 45° and between it and the fault zone there are smaller accompanying shear fractures, so-called Riedel shears, which are oriented to the fault zone at approximately angles of 15° and 75°. These structures are still visible at a later stage of the fracture and may therefore indicate its existence. In the territory of the Ždánice unit, in the area of Pavlov hills, hitherto undescribed structures of Riedel shears were found in this work, which may indicate a horizontal slip. The geomorpho-logical manifestations of this fracture were studied using aerial image studies and analysis of DMR data. Structural features were assessed based on interpretations of five 2D reflex-seismic profiles and five boreholes. It was found that the studied strike slip is sinistral with a dip-direction to the southeast. In the south it affects the rocks of the Paleogene, Neogene and Jurassic, while in the north it extends to the basement. The fault is probably an accompanying phenomenon of oblique thrusting of the Carpathians over the platform of the Bohemian Mas-sif.
