Determinants of sensory perception and possibilities of special educational support for individuals with multiple disabilities

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the issue of sensory perception and special education support for individuals with multiple disabilities along the lines of intervention and special education. The final thesis consists of two parts. The theoretical part defines common theoretical, special educational, medical and methodological basis. The researched issue is complemented by the legislative norms and curricular documents, presents educational-psychological counseling services and support measures. The conclusion of the main theoretical part is formed by the diagnosis strategies, familiarization of perception in individuals with multiple disabilities and characterization of basic strategies of special educational support in the area of intervention approach. The research design of the empirical part of the final thesis is of a qualitative character. The research objectives were in line with the research questions defined as the targeted plan to identify the dominant sensory channel for individuals with multiple disabilities in the educational process based on determining the prevailing reaction to individual sensory stimuli. The domination of the visual and auditory sensory channels and prevalence of mimic and partly vocalization responses were confirmed in the research sample of four preschool children with multiple disabilities.

Abstract:

Rigorózna práca sa zaoberá problematikou zmyslového vnímania a špeciálnopedagogickej podpory u jednotlivcov s viacnásobným postihnutím v intenciách špeciálnopedagogickej intervencie a edukácie. Prácu tvoria dve časti. V teoretickej časti práce sú vymedzené základné teoretické, špeciálnopedagogické, medicínske a metodologické východiská. Sledovanú problematiku dopĺňa legislatívny rámec vzdelávania a kurikulárne dokumenty, definované pedagogicko-psychologické poradenské služby a podporné opatrenia. Hlavnú sféru teoretickej časti uzatvárajú diagnostické stratégie, priblíženie vnímania u jednotlivcov s viacnásobným postihnutím a charakterizované základné stratégie špeciálnopedagogickej podpory v oblasti intervenčných prístupov. Výskumný dizajn druhej, empirickej časti rigoróznej práce, má kvalitatívny charakter. Výskumné ciele sú v súčinnosti s výskumnými otázkami definované ako ucelený zámer identifikovať dominantný zmyslový kanál u jednotlivcov s viacnásobným postihnutím v procese edukácie na základe určenia prevládajúcich reakcií na jednotlivé zmyslové podnety. U výskumnej vzorky štyroch detí s viacnásobným postihnutím predškolského veku sa potvrdila dominantnosť zrakového a sluchového zmyslového kanálu a prevládanie mimických a sčasti vokalizačných reakcií.
