Opportunities and limits of franchising (case study)

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je věnována problematice možností a mezí využití franšízy, které prezentuje na konkrétní případové studii. Cílem práce je analyzovat a zhodnotit možnosti podnikání formou franšízy v oblasti poskytování pohostinských služeb v konkrétní lokalitě ČR. Teoretická část vymezuje základní druhy a pojmy z oblasti franšízingu a popisuje franšízing jako podnikatelský systém s důrazem na jeho výhody i nevýhody, a to zejména z pohledu ekonomického, ale i právního. Poukazuje také na nutnost zpracování podnikatelského plánu a představuje jeho podstatné primární části. Praktická část využívá popsané teoretické poznatky a na jejich základě navrhuje a následně hodnotí ekonomické dopady navrhovaného řešení finančního modelu založení klasické české restaurace „Lokál“ na bázi franšízy v centru Prahy.

Abstract:

This thesis is dedicated to the set of questions revolving potentialities and limits of the use of franchise which are being presented by means of a specific case study. The goal of the thesis is to analyze and evaluate the possibilities of setting business in the form of franchise in the area of providing catering services in a specific location in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part defines elementary typology and basic terms from the area franchising. It describes the latter as a business system while focusing on its advantages and disadvantages, namely from the economical point of view, but also from the legal one. It points on the necessity of elaboration of a business plan, too, and it outlines the essential primary contents of such a plan. The practical part uses the afore described theoretical knowledge and on its basis it proposes and finally evaluates the economical impact of the proposed solution of financial model of establishment of a typical Czech franchise restaurant called “Lokál” in the centre of Prague.
