Legal and Economic Aspects of Pension Indexation in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá dílčí problematikou důchodového systému v České republice. Cílem je zhodnotit právní a ekonomické aspekty vývoje valorizace starobních důchodů z pohledu několika posledních let. Vyjma teoretického pozadí důchodového pojištění se práce dále zabývá shrnutím a analýzou vývoje v oblasti valorizace v širším kontextu. Pro získání komplexnějšího pohledu se práce následně věnuje téže problematice v Kanadě. Uvedené poznatky jsou analyzovány a komparovány. V poslední části práce jsou zmíněny úvahy de lege ferenda.

Abstract:

This thesis addresses a partial issue of the pension system in the Czech Republic. The aim is to evaluate the legal and economic aspects of the development of the old-age pension indexation in the last few years. Apart from the theoretical background of pension insurance, the thesis focuses on a summary and analysis of developments in the field of pension indexation in a broader context. To gain a more comprehensive picture, the thesis then examines the same issue in Canada. The findings presented are analysed and compared. In the last part of the thesis, de lege ferenda considerations are discussed.
