Whence comes animals which are held in rescue centers for handicapped animals?

Abstract:

V bakalářské práci je popisován chod záchranných stanic a stanic působících ve světě. Práce popisuje historii stanic v České republice od prvopočátku vzniku ochrany přírody až po vznik prvních organizací zabývajících se ochranou přírody. Problematiku financování stanic z pohledu státu i v praxi, dále legislativní úpravu, která upravuje chod stanic od jejich založení až po jejich zánik. Cílem práce je ze získaných dat vyhodnotit nejčastější příčiny zraňování živočichů přijímaných do záchranných stanic. Díky nim bylo zjištěno, že nejčastěji se do záchranných stanic dostávají ptáci a to cca 80%, zbytek jsou savci. Každým rokem to jsou hned dva druhy netopýrů. Meziročně tvoří ježci (2 druhy) 15% všech přijímaných živočichů, netopýři (2 druhy) 14 %, poštolka obecná 11 % a rorýs obecný 5%. Nejčastějším důvodem příjmu byla mláďata, dalším srážka s automobilem, popálení od elektrického vedení a poranění způsobená střelnou zbraní. Jako prevence proti zbytečnému přijímání mláďat je cílená osvěta a výchova v rámci propagace a pořádání akcí s cílem přiblížit veřejnosti život jednotlivých živočichů a tím zabránit jejich zbytečnému odnášení z přírody. V případě srážky s dopravou existuje spousta možností jako preventivního opatření, tím jsou například, přechody přes dálnice, ekodukty, nadchody, oplocení, pachové ohradníky a plašiče zvěře. Z hlediska popálení na vedení vysokého napětí se využívají na již nově postavených sloupech chrániče sloupů, bezpečné konstrukce, které zamezují dosednutí ptáka na nebezpečné místo.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis defines how the animal rescue stations and the similar type of stations in the world work. It also deals with the history of the animal rescue stations in the Czech Republic from their very beginning till the foundation of the first organizations, which focus on the nature conservation. Moreover, it describes the issue of funding from the governmental point of view and its legislation, which states the working content of the stations from their beginning to the end. The aim of this thesis is to find out the most common reasons of hurting animals, which later on get to the rescue stations. The research will be based on the gained data, which show that birds are the most common animals that get to the stations- about 80% and the rest of them are mammals. Furthermore, every year, there are two kinds of bats. However, during the year there are other animals that one can find in the rescue stations and thus, hedgehogs (2 kinds), which is 15 % of all animals there, bats (2 kinds) 14%, kestrel 11% and swift 5%. The most common reasons for taking the animals to the rescue stations are young animals, car accidents, burning caused by power lines and injuries caused by gun. A purposeful raising of public awareness and education through the publicity and organizing events serve as a tool of prevention against the needless taking the animals off in their natural environment. In case of a car accident, there are lots of ways of prevention, such as motorway crossings, eco-viaducts, footbridges, enclosures, scent fence and animals destructors. In terms of burning caused by power lines, new-build electricity poles already use the protection and thus such constructions that enable birds to sit on a dangerous place.
