The relation between subjectively perceived stress, self-defense performance, and survival of the attacked person in the model self-defense situations

Abstract:

Vzájemné vztahy stresu, výkonu a přežití v sebeobraně dosud nebyly uspokojivě vysvětleny. V kvaziexperimentu bylo 60 osob rozdělených po 20 na netrénované, středně trénované a vysoce trénované zkoumá-no během modelové sebeobranné situace nízké intenzity (LI) a vysoké intenzity (HI). Stres byl hodnocen testovanými osobami na subjektivní škále stresu, sebeobranný výkon hodnocen 5 experty na škále sebe-obranného výkonu, přežití soudním patologem na škále přežití. Podle výsledků mezi skupinami existuje významný rozdíl ve stresu v LI scénáři a neexistuje významný rozdíl v HI scénáři. Mezi skupinami existuje významný rozdíl ve výkonu v LI i HI scénáři. Mezi skupinami existuje významný rozdíl v přežití v LI i HI scénáři. Mezi stresem a výkonem neexistuje významný vztah v LI ani HI scénáři. Mezi výkonem a přežitím existuje významný vztah (r≈0,50) v LI i HI scénáři. Mezi stresem a přežitím neexistuje významný vztah v LI ani HI scénáři.

Abstract:

The interrelationships of stress, performance, and survival in self-defence have not yet been satisfactorily explained. In the quasi-experiment, 60 people divided into 20 untrained, moderately trained, and highly trained individuals were examined during a model self-defense situation of low intensity (LI) and high intensity (HI). Stress was evaluated by the test subjects on a subjective stress scale, self-defense performance was evaluated by 5 experts on a self-defense performance scale, survival by a forensic pathologist on a survival scale. According to the results between the groups, there is a significant difference in stress in the LI scenario and there is no significant difference in the HI scenario. There is a significant difference in performance between groups in both the LI and HI scenarios. There is a significant difference in survival between the groups in both LI and HI scenarios. There is no significant relationship between stress and performance in the LI or HI scenarios. There is a significant relationship between per-formance and survival (r≈0.50) in the LI and HI scenarios. There is no significant relationship between stress and survival in either the LI or HI scenarios.
