Multicultural Education in the Curricular Documents and its Implementation in the Educational Process

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá multikulturní výchovou a problematikou jejího zakotvení ve výuce a v kurikulárních dokumentech. Teoretická část vymezuje základní pojmy a popi-suje pojetí a koncepce multikulturní výchovy. Dále vysvětluje význam a přínos multikul-turní výchovy v kontextu aktuální doby. Objasňuje zakotvení multikulturní výchovy v kurikulárních dokumentech a popisuje smysl a podobu jejího výskytu ve výuce. Praktická část má povahu smíšeného výzkumu a je zaměřena na zkoumání přítomnosti multikulturní výchovy na základních školách. V kvantitativní části se výzkum upíná k žákovi a snaží se zjistit, jaké jsou jeho názory na frekvenci, hloubku a kvalitu multikulturní výchovy. Část kvalitativní se orientuje na učitele a jejich stanoviska k této problematice. Snaží se rozkrýt pohled učitelů na smysl multikulturní výchovy a míru jejího zakotvení v kurikulárních dokumentech a ve výuce. Také se snaží o reflexi zkušeností, které učitelé v rámci multikulturní výchovy získávají.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with multicultural education and its implementation issues to education process and curricular documents. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts and describes approaches and conception of multicultural education. It also explains the importance and benefits of multicultural education in the context of the current period. It clarifies the anchoring of multicultural education in the curricula and describes the meaning and form of its occurrence in the education process. The practical part comprises mixed research and is focused on exploring the presence of multicultural education in elementary schools. The quantitative part of the research is clamped to the student and trying to figure out what are his views on the frequency, depth and quality of multicultural education. The qualitative part focuses on teachers and their attitudes on this issue. It tries to uncover the teacher's opinions on multicultural education and how much is that area anchored in the curriculum and in teaching. Also, it tries to reflect the experiences that teachers in the context of multicultural education receive.
