Abstract:

Cílem práce je seznámit se s architekturou síťových karet předních světových výrobců, architekturou platformy NetCOPE a s kartami COMBO vyvíjených v rámci projektu Liberouter. Součástí práce je vytvoření testovací aplikace, pomocí níž bude možné porovnat výkonnostní parametry síťových karet, jejichž hlavním měřítkem výkonu je jejich propustnost. V práci jsou dále popsány způsoby příjmu paketů a možnosti optimalizace jednotlivých řešení. V praktické části jsou poté uvedeny výsledky srovnávacích testů ve formě tabulek a grafů, společně s diskuzí o naměřených hodnotách.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to get acquainted with an architecture of network cards of the world's leading manufacturers, with an architecture of NetCOPE platform and with COMBO cards developed within the framework of the project Liberouter. Part of the thesis is a creation of the test application which will be able to compare performance parameters of the network cards whose main performance criterion is their throughput. In the thesis the ways of packet capturing and possibilities of performance optimization of particular solutions are described. In the practical part of the thesis, the benchmark results in the form of tables and charts are presented along with the discussion of the measured values.
