Dopad mezinárodní migrace na sociálně-ekonomické ukazatele v Ghaně

Abstract:

Tato studie hodnotí dopad mezinárodní migrace na socioekonomický indikatory v Ghaně. Pro účely studie byli vybráni Ghaňané žijící v evropských zemích a shromážděné údaje byly analyzovány tak, aby mohly být odvozeny hlavní zjištění. Pomocí metody primárního výzkumu byla hodnocena úroveň dovedností migrantů z Ghany a byly zkoumány dopady remitencí na nejbližší rodinu odesílatele. Sekundární údaje z ukazatelů Světové banky a Mezinárodní organizace pro migraci byly rovněž využity k posouzení dopadů mobility pracovní síly jak na Ghanu, tak na přijímací evropské destinace.Dalším aspektem studie byl „brain drain“ a „brain gain“ aspekt mezinárodní migrace. Zde byly náklady spojené s odlivem mozků pro vysílající země porovnávány s přínosy z „brain gain“, jak pro vysílající, tak pro přijímající země.Výsledek této studie ukázal, že Ghaňané žijící v Evropě pozitivně ovlivnili socioekonomický rozvoj Ghany, a to hned několika způsoby. Je však třeba reformovat stávající opatření tak, aby v budoucnu byla regulována nelegální migrace některých obyvatel z Ghany.

Abstract:

This study evaluates the impacts of international migration on the socio-economic indicators in Ghana. Some Ghanaian residents living in selected European destination countries were sampled, and the data collected were analysed to derive the main findings. Using primary research method, the level of skills of the Ghanaian migrants to Europe were assessed and the impacts on remittances on the remitter’s immediate family through various channels were investigated. Secondary data from the World Bank indicators and the International Organisation for Migration were also employed to examine the effects of labour mobility on both Ghana and the receiving European destinations.Another aspect of the study covered was the brain drain and brain gain facet of international migration. Here, the cost involved in the brain drain to the sending countries were compared with the benefits of the brain gain to both the sending and receiving countries.The result of this study showed that Ghanaians living in Europe had impacted positively through several ways on the socio-economic development of Ghana. However, existing measures needed to be reformed to regulate future’s massive population movement in the way that irregular migration of some Ghanaians would be curbed.
