Evaluation of biodegradable materials in model conditions of landfill, compost and soil

Abstract:

Tato závěrečná práce se zaměřuje na biologicky rozložitelné materiály. Popisuje legislativní prostředí odpadového hospodářství v České republice, charakteristiku a dělení biologicky rozložitelných odpadů. Dále se věnuje využití materiálů v různých sektorech a na závěr odstranění biologicky rozložitelných materiálů. V praktické části byla zkoumána informace ohledně plastových kelímků na nápoje, u kterých bylo uváděno, že jsou biologicky rozložitelné a stoprocentně kompostovatelné. Vybrány byly čtyři druhy kelímků, které byly dle metodiky šesti měsíců uloženy a pozorovány v polystyrenových boxech, a ty simulovaly podmínky skládky, kompostu a půdy. Výsledkem byl u dvou druhů kelímků částečný rozklad a u dalších dvou nedošlo k žádné změně.

Abstract:

The thesis focused on biologically degradable materials. It describes legal environment of the Waste management in the Czech Republic, charakteristice and structuring of biodegradable waste. Furthermode it deals with the usage of materials in various sectors and finally the elimination of biodegradable materials.The practical part examined the information about plastic cups for beveranges saying the were one hundred per cent compostable and biodegradable. Four types of the cups were chosen, placed and observed in polystyrene boxes according to the methodology to simulate the conditions of dump, compost and soil, for six moths. The results was following: two types of plastic cups were partly decomposed and the other two types were not changed at all.
