A point of view of doctors on patients and perception of their position in the current health care system

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá názory a postoji lékařů na vlastní pozici v současném systému zdravotnictví. Práce se dále věnuje tomu, jak lékaři vnímají svoji roli ve vztahu s pacienty, a jak se vztahují k interakci s nimi. Cílem práce je tak učinit vhled do lékařské profese v současnosti, kdy je medicína ovlivněna přítomností tržního prostředí. Tržní prostředí uvnitř medicíny změnilo nejen fungování medicíny jako takové, ale především vztah mezi lékařem a pacientem. Struktura práce je rozdělena do dvou částí teoretické a empirické. Teoretická část představuje pojetí moci a vědění, které je součástí medicíny, a různé perspektivy, skrze ně je možné pohlížet na vztah mezi lékařem a pacientem a jeho transformaci. Empirická část obsahuje vlastní kvalitativní výzkum vycházející z polostrukturovaných rozhovorů, které byly provedeny s lékaři.

Abstract:

This work deals with the opinions and attitudes of physicians on their position in the current health care system. The main part of study examines how physicians perceive their role in the relationship with patients, and how they relate to interaction with them. The aim of this study is to make an insight into the medical profession at present, when medicine is affected by the presence of market environment. Market environment within medicine has changed not only the functioning of the medicine itself, but also the relationship between physician and patient. Structure of the thesis is divided into two parts theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part presents the concet of power and knowledge, which is part of medicine, and different perspectives, through them is possible to look at the relationship between physician and patient and its transformation. The empirical part includes a qualitative research based on semi-structured interview that were conducted with physicians.
