Financial management of filling stations during the so-called Covid 19 pandemic in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá finančním řízením čerpacích stanic nejmenované společnosti v období pandemie Covid-19 na základě skutečných výsledků. Cílem práce je zanalyzovat a vyhodnotit profitabilitu třech skupin čerpacích stanic ve sledovaném období 2019-2022, dále je na základě výsledků mezi sebou porovnat a identifikovat příčiny změn ve vývoji ziskovosti. V rámci teoretické části je načrtnutá podstata franšízingu, představení a situace na trhu pohonných hmot a vývoj spotřeby pohonných hmot v ČR ve sledovaném období a rovněž i přehled protipandemických opatření a podpůrných vládních programů pro podnikatelské subjekty. Současně je v této části představená analyzovaná společnost. V analytické části jsou data zpracované do zjednodušeného výkazu zisků a ztrát, který poskytne čtenáři přehled o finančním řízení dané skupiny během pandemie. Následuje komparace skupin, na základě které bylo zjištěno, že právě poloha čerpací stanice ovlivňovala její profitabilitu ve sledovaném období.

Abstract:

This thesis examines the financial management of an unnamed company's filling stations during the Covid-19 pandemic based on actual results. The aim of the thesis is to analyse and evaluate the profitability of three groups of filling stations in the period 2019-2022, further compare them with each other based on the results and identify the reasons for the changes in profitability. The theoretical part outlines the essence of franchising, the introduction and situation of the fuel market and the development of fuel consumption in Czech Republic, as well as an overview of anti-pandemic measures and government support programs for business entities. At the same time, the analysed company is presented in this section. In the analytical section, the data is processed into a simplified profit and loss statement that provides an overview of the financial management of the group during the pandemic. This is followed by a comparison of the groups. The main result of the analysis was that in the period 2019-2022, the location of the filling station was the key element that influenced its profitability.
