Awareness and Attitudes of Candidates for the Priesthood about the Burnout Syndrome

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na problematiku syndromu vyhoření u kněží a na to, jaké znalosti o ní mají a jaké postoje k ní zaujímají kandidáti kněžství. V kapitolách teoretické části je pojednáno téma povolání ke kněžství a přípravy na ně, dále je v nich vymezen pojem syndrom vyhoření a objasněny jeho základní aspekty ? příčiny, projevy a prevence, případně terapie. Závěrečná kapitola teoretické části je věnována problematice kněžského vyhoření. Empirická část prezentuje cíle, metody a především výsledky empirického šetření, jež bylo realizováno mezi kandidáty kněžství s cílem zmapovat jejich znalosti a postoje k syndromu vyhoření. Z práce vyplývá závěr, že toto téma si v rámci seminární formace zaslouží pozornost. Kněžství je z hlediska rizika vzniku syndromu vyhoření velmi exponovaným povoláním, proto je třeba budoucí kněze na tuto skutečnost připravit

Abstract:

Thesis is focused on the issue of burnout syndrome by the priests and to what knowledge about it have and what attitudes on it take candidates for the priesthood. Chapters of theoretical part deal the topic of vocations to the priesthood and preparation to it, further is there defined the concept of burnout syndrome and clarified its basic aspects - the causes, symptoms and prevention or therapy. The final chapter of the theoretical part is dedicated to the issue of burnout syndrome by priests. The empirical part presents the objectives, methods, and particularly results of empirical survey, that was conducted among the candidates to the priesthood to map their knowledge and attitudes towards burnout syndrome. The thesis concluded that this issue within the framework of seminary formation deserves attention. From point of view of burnout syndrome risk, is priesthood very exposed profession to this, therefore it?s important to prepare future priests for this reality
